Merry Christmas!
Since there was no Christmas letter last year, I figured I should update everyone on what's happening in the Baker family! We have been blessed with good health (aside from a good dose of chicken pox), amazing family and friends and a heavenly Father who never stops loving us. We truly can't complain.
Derek remains hard at work for the Abbotsford Police Department, and really does love it. He is highly respected at his job and for good reason, he's really good at it. I think he's really enjoying having me home so he doesn't have to do 'everything' by himself anymore. And by everything, I mean 'changing Hannah's diaper'. Not his favorite job. He's started up basketball again, something he hasn't been able to do for a long time because we've just been too busy. He will most likely be busy once again doing home renos because we have sold our house and are moving....again. (Seventh move in seven years - must be a record right?)

Tyson is growing like crazy - he's getting soooo tall! (surprise surprise). Tyson is loving all his activities; swimming, skating, and soccer, and is keeping me busy at home by requesting 'craft time' frequently! He has taken to his new sister, Natalie, and is a big help around the house and in the car. His job is to put in her soother if she's crying. So, the other day Tyson asked me, "Mom, when I grow down, then could I have a soother?" He's quite impressed with how it works I guess. He'll be four in January and can't wait to go to school - I may just enroll him in preschool for January so I can have a rest from the crafts.
Hannah is also stretching out, although we still affectionatly call her 'the tank'. At 2 and a half, she is wearing size five clothes. She gets to sit and watch Tyson do all the fun things, and actually gets excited about it! We have just begun the potty training and it's going quite well, however, we are realizing how stubborn she can be. Her precious 'doggy' (well-loved stuffed animal) was cast aside without a care when we told her she had to poop on the potty or loose doggy until she did. However, the uncontrollable giggles when she finally did the deed and got doggy back told us she really did care....a lot! She's so fun to have around!
Natalie is now three months old and cuter than ever! Those dimples get me everytime! She's very interested in what her siblings are up to, and I'm so glad she can't join them yet. Soon enough! She's very alert and content, and I'm savoring every minute of this phase. I know now that it doesn't last long!
I'm loving being on mat leave, and I love that I live in a country where they pay you to stay at home with your family. There are days where I miss work, but I don't have any time to dwell on it. It's amazing how I can spend all day being busy, but at night, I have nothing to show for it except that the kids are in bed. However, every minute is worth it.
Well, that's our update. I hope this letter finds you all well. May you have a wonderful Christmas and a Happy New Year.
